El Salto Falls And Buena Vista Creek
Discovering a section of Buena Vista Creek in a no official open space area in Oceanside, CA with my friend Joe. The real treat was El Salto Falls. We got to see a mama duck and her several chicks trying relentlessly to make it up the falls. We also got to see some huge fish and probably the biggest pond turtle I have ever seen in the mucky pool downstream of the falls. I can't believe I have lived within 5 miles of this waterfall all of my life and I didn't even know they were there. Cool little local excursion.
My name is Erin and I work for a non-profit educational organization. We are creating a mapping program that will allow users to see the effects of storm water pollution on their local environment. I came across your photos and was especially interested in possibly using the second one shown here of the creek. Please let me know if this would be a possibility and if you have any concerns in it's use. You can contact me at erin@solanacenter.org. I really appreciate it!
