Cedar Creek Falls Oct. 2010

Well, Rob my brother, robie my friend, Ron my friend and I went on a hike down to Cedar Creek Falls. We had never been there and I have been waiting for an opportunity for almost a year now to visit that area. We hiked at times almost straight down into this canyon and crossed the San Diego River ( It was dry ) so I was so pleased to see plenty of water running in Cedar Creek The falls were beautiful and we also traversed to the top of the falls and back through some meadows beyond the falls. That hike out of the canyon at the end of the day was a killer workout. I found out to take lots of water ( more that I think I'll need ) next time I explore this area and take my water filter. Anyway, we all had a great time exploring and after we went to the Yellow Deli for some great food afterwords.

Crestline - Pics from the back side

I was just in the area so I decided to take a few pics off the side of the road on my way from Hesperia through Crestline to lake arrowhead area.

Mount Laguna Foster Point and Laguna Meadows

My daughter Barbara, her friend Kaitlyn, My two friend Ron and Robie and I went hiking in the Laguna Mountains Sunday. First we hiked to Foster Point where we could look thousands of feet below to the Anza Borrego Desert and see all the way out to Cuyamaca Peak, Palomar Peak, San Jacinto Peak and even San Gorgonio Peak. What a view. Then we hiked down into the Laguna Meadows to Big Laguna Lake and had lunch. It was a beautiful day in the mountains.

San Jacinto Mountains - Taquitz Peak & Valley

So two of my friends, Robie and Ron, got in touch with me and said they are starting to do some hiking. They asked me if I could show them around the local areas and so I took them to one of the MUST DO hikes, The Devils Slide Trail up to Taquitz Peak and then down into Taquitz Valley. In my opinion this is one of the most beautiful hikes around Southern California. We all had a great time and explored many types of landscapes. Giant Granite mountains, Mixed Pine Oak Forest, Solid Pine Forest With Giant Lodgepole Pines, Trails among Car sized boulders, Trickling Creeks, Beautiful Meadows and trails through miles of forest with waist high ferns as far as we could see. It was a real treat to be able to take freinds to an amazing place like this for their first time.
